Thatching Reed is inspired by the graceful restio species found over the Cape Mountains - my favourites being the Elegia group. For those not from South Africa - these sturdy reeds have been used for a variety of domestic purposes - but particularly in creating the thatch so characteristic of the Cape Dutch architecture, and many other dwellings besides. There is nothing quite like stepping into the cool shade of a thatch cottage after the searing summer heat and glare.
Thatching Reed is a medium dark variegated colourway with notes of deep olive, grey and warm olive shades together with a scattering of speckles.
