Staying in the theme of winter gardens, is Frosted Foliage. I wanted to capture something of the coolness of plants in the rain, frost or snow. In my favourite haunts on the mountains, the foliage always appears out of cloud mist, heavy with moisture as many of the fynbos plants function as 'cloud catchers' - those fine leaves capture the moisture and create drip circles around the plants. Likewise - lichens plump out and become rich in colour from the rain - a spectacular slow magic show.
