I'm always struck by the layering that is necessary for this particular colour - two unexpected combinations, and one has a memory of an evening sky darkening towards dusk. It puts me in mind of that line by T. S. Elliot in Preludes - 'the burnt-out ends of smoky days". Here in Africa...Autumn evenings are slow...particularly in Cape Town. The golden afternoon sunlight pales, the sky turns a smoky teal and deepens to dark.
Elliot is a medium semi-solid pale teal that will pair well with any of the coppery tones, and a colour such as Dutch Still Life.
