I had a look at my old recipes again on a recent wholesale order, and discovered a bunch of colours that I wanted to revisit. Over time my dying has shifted how these colours appear, perhaps a bit more nuanced (hopefully) than when I had first made them!
Copperplate is a throwback to my days in the printing studio at art school - sadly, I was never much of a printmaker...but that didn't stop the enthusiasm. I loved the way the copper plates oxidised from the repeated stages and dips in acid - hence this colourway. The oxidisation always revealed the most beautuful rosy copper shades with a hint of purple and an array of speckles!
